affectionate. Could it be that he enjoys the training time or is this just a coinincedence?

Or he could be trying to please you which will make training easier.

You are spending more time with him bonding, and of course that will help.
We noticed a HUGE change in our sheepdog after obedience training. He seems so much happier and calmer! It’s like he knows where everything stands, he is confident in the rules, and he is just at peace with his life. I love my home now that they’re trained.

Dogs are social animals. They also tend to need structure as well as contact and appeciate having their person interact with them in a manner they can better understand. When you learn to communicate better with you dog through a training class, things fall into place for the dog and they are not being constantly given confusing directions. Wouldn’t you be happier and much nicer to the one that communicates, gives you time and focus and works at being a part of your life than to the one that keeps giving you confused/mixed messages and seems to be incapable of communicating and interacting properly with you? No different… not a coincidence at all.
