Training Older Puppy?
September 16th, 2009
Are there any special tips for training an older puppy?
I mean obedience training not potty training.
We adopted our girl, Princess, at 6 months. And we are working with her according to all the websites we read. I was just wondering if we should be doing something different since she is older?
We are new to dog owning.
6 months is still young! Training should go just as smoothly as it would for a younger puppy. Thank you for adopting, that always puts a smile on my face! =D

No, no difference at all… you still will need to find a good obedience class and trainer that will teach you to properly interact with and train your dog. I have trained dogs at six years of age and my present ch/sch/cd b*tch never had any training until she was almost four years. The training of the dog is easy and always doable – it is the training of the owner that is difficult and sometimes takes forever…
