what age should obedience training begin for a puppy??

September 4th, 2009

i am buying a male german shepherd puppy soon and wanted to know when i should start socialization and obedience training classes??

answers from gsd owners preferred.

thank you

As soon as they have had all their jabs you can start the training. Though i’m sure that each training school will have a minimum age as to when a pup can start, in the mean time try doing what you can with the command ‘sit’ at home, using treats is often worth trying when they are pups as well as your voice. Though i would say not to do more than 5mins at a time for a young pup as they will get tired.
