What do you think about litter box training a small dog?

I had a chihuahua, She was 2years old when I got her. She hated to go outside cause of the cold. So I put a litter box in a cage and when she would go to potty in the house I would put her in the cage and tell her bad dog and keep her in there till she used the litter box. I would praise her for going potty in the box and let her out a few times later I took the litter box out and put it in the corner wher she could smell her sent. Females seem to do better because they sqwat males hike and usualy dont hit the box. Good luck

    Good idea but you have to change the paper or litter more then you would with a cat and they do not bury there stuff. It is very easy to do. good luck

    Good idea! It’s good to teach them when they are small because it would be hard to litter box train them when they are big.

    I have a friend who just got a chihuaha and litterbox trained her. The dog is, beleive it or not, housebroken. I think its a great idea for a small dog.
