My grandma is looking for a small dog with shorter hair and light in color. I am good with larger dogs but I could use some tips and ideas on small dogs. My mom and I are helping her look. One that is easy to train is prefered, I think my grandma would be happier with a dog that is willing to please her.

Any suggestions are appreciated!!!

I have heard that papillons *love* to please their owners. And they are very small, and light colored.

    Poodles are amazing.
    They are very smart too!
Light in colour, and they are considered hypoallergenic.

    They come in 3 sizes-
    Standard, Miniature and Toy.

..and a variety of colours, for the matter.

West Highland White Terriers are also a good choice.
Although they are a little harder to train, they have a white coat and are small. They are also considered hypoallergenic.

However, training a dog can have different results. It also depends on what methods you use. I really encourage postive reinforcement. I’ve trained a 3 Year old Yorkshire terrier in the past, and he was a breeze! However, his owner said that he’s very stubborn…that’s because they didn’t praise him after what he did right.

Again, I encourage positive reinforcement for training!

    Good Luck !
